Asia is not one market and it does not behave like one. A flight inside Japan and a flight from Singapore to the Maldives have almost nothing in common except the aircraft, and the planning that sits behind them is where a charter either works or quietly falls apart. Distances are long, the paperwork is real, and the ground infrastructure varies more between neighbouring countries than anywhere else we operate.

Permits are the long pole

Most of the region requires landing and overflight permits for non-scheduled flights, and the lead times are measured in working days rather than hours. China and India are the two that most often set the earliest possible departure — both typically want several working days, and both count working days rather than calendar days, so a Friday request can easily mean a Wednesday departure. Indonesia, Vietnam and Myanmar have their own requirements.

None of this is a problem when it is known about in advance, and all of it is a problem when it is not. Tell us the dates early, even if the passenger list and the exact timing are still moving, and we will start the permits against a provisional schedule.

Airports and parking

Hong Kong and Singapore are the region’s two business aviation hubs and both are constrained. Hong Kong International is slot-coordinated and parking is genuinely scarce, so a longer trip can mean the aircraft repositions away and returns for you. Singapore separates the traffic: Changi handles the airlines, and Seletar is the business aviation field, with its own terminal and a far easier arrival.

Japan is a slot question rather than a permit one. Haneda is close to central Tokyo but releases very few business aviation slots; Narita is easier to get into and further out. Elsewhere the picture is mixed — Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Manila and Taipei are all straightforward with notice, while smaller fields across Indochina and the Indonesian archipelago vary in hours, fuel availability and handling quality, which is exactly the sort of thing we check before quoting rather than after.

Aircraft and range

Intra-Asian sectors are mostly midsize and super-midsize work: Hong Kong to Bangkok, Singapore to Jakarta, Tokyo to Seoul. Anything intercontinental, or a long overwater leg such as Singapore to the Maldives, moves into heavy and ultra-long-range aircraft — partly for the range itself and partly because crew duty limits, not fuel, are often what decides whether a sector can be flown in one go or needs a technical stop and a second crew.

Cabotage rules matter too: in most of the region a foreign-registered aircraft may not carry passengers between two domestic points, which affects which operators can quote a purely domestic leg.

Season

The typhoon season across East and South-East Asia runs roughly from July to October, and the South Asian monsoon from June to September. Neither stops private flying, but both make schedule buffers worth having, and both are reasons to agree an alternate airport at the time of booking rather than in the air.

What it costs

We quote one all-inclusive figure per option — aircraft, crew, fuel, handling, landing and airport fees, permits and taxes — with no brokerage fee added afterwards and no membership to buy first. Every flight is operated by a carrier holding a valid Air Operator Certificate; we hold no aircraft of our own and stand behind the arrangement end to end.
