Private Jet to Dubai
Dubai is one of the easiest long-haul arrivals we arrange: three airports, 24-hour handling, visa on arrival for most European passports, and a non-stop flight of six to seven hours from almost anywhere in Europe.
Which airport for Dubai.
All three airports take every jet in the reference fleet on runway length, so the choice comes down to slots, parking and the drive: DXB for the city, DWC for certainty.
| Airport | To the centre | Runway | Jets that fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dubai International DXB | 5 km, about 15 min to Downtown and DIFC | 4,447 m | 70 of 70 VIP airliner |
| Al Maktoum International DWC | About 55 km, 40 to 45 min to Downtown | 4,500 m | 70 of 70 VIP airliner |
| Sharjah International SHJ | About 25 km, 30 to 40 min to Downtown depending on traffic | 4,060 m | 70 of 70 VIP airliner |
Dubai International (DXB): The city airport. Private flights use the Executive Flight Service terminal, with its own apron and customs, away from the passenger terminals. Slots and parking are tight at peak hours, so the operator applies early.
Al Maktoum International (DWC): Dubai's business aviation airport: a VIP terminal, several FBOs, no slot pressure and 24-hour operation. Closer than DXB to Palm Jebel Ali and Expo City.
Sharjah International (SHJ): The alternate when DXB has no slot. Full business-jet handling and quick customs clearance.
Rule of thumb: published take-off distance at maximum weight, sea level, a standard day and a dry runway. Altitude, weather and airport rules can still rule out an aircraft the runway allows. Check any airport in the runway checker

Dubai through the year.
October to April. The season: 25 to 32 °C by day, everything open, and the busiest months for private arrivals. From December, book aircraft and parking two to three weeks ahead.
New Year. The tightest week of the year at both airports. Slots, parking and crews are booked out early; confirm by late November.
Grand Prix and Airshow. The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix falls in late November or early December; the Dubai Airshow runs every other November, next in 2027. Both fill DWC parking and the long-range fleet.
Ramadan. Shorter business hours and quieter restaurants by day; hotels are calmer and often cheaper. In 2027 it falls in February and March.
May to September. Above 40 °C by day. Flights run normally, early-morning departures are preferred, and hotel rates are at their lowest.
Late March and April. The Dubai World Cup weekend and Art Dubai bring strong demand from the Gulf and Europe; book a week or two ahead.
Dubai, in brief.
Where to stay
Downtown and DIFC put you fifteen minutes from DXB and in the middle of the business city: the Armani at the Burj Khalifa, the Address hotels around the fountain, Four Seasons DIFC. Jumeirah Beach and the Palm are the resort end, 25 to 35 minutes from either airport: Bulgari on its own island, One&Only The Palm, Atlantis The Royal, Jumeirah Al Naseem beside the Burj Al Arab. For a quieter week, the desert resorts at Al Maha and Bab Al Shams are under an hour from DWC.
What to do
The city rewards a plan. The observation decks of the Burj Khalifa and the Museum of the Future are booked by time slot; a morning in the Al Fahidi quarter and on the Creek, crossing by abra, is the old Dubai that still exists; the Jumeirah coast, the Marina and Bluewaters are for the evenings. Desert drives, dune dinners and falconry run from October to April. Day trips reach the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in about ninety minutes by road, or the mountains at Hatta in the same time.
Getting around
Both airports have chauffeured cars at the terminal door, and most hotels send their own. Traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road is heavy from 7 to 10 in the morning and 4 to 8 in the evening, which is when DWC’s 45 minutes can beat DXB’s 15. Helicopter transfers between the airports and the Palm or Atlantis can be arranged on request.
Good to know
The weekend is Saturday and Sunday, with a short Friday. Alcohol is served in licensed hotels and restaurants; dress is relaxed at the beach, smart in the city and covered at the mosque. The dirham is pegged to the US dollar and cards are accepted everywhere. The time difference from central Europe is three hours in winter and two in summer, so an afternoon departure lands before midnight.
Before you fly to Dubai.
How long is a private jet flight to Dubai from Europe?
Six to seven hours non-stop from western Europe: about 6 h 45 from London, 6 h from Zurich or Geneva, 5 h 45 from Munich. A heavy or long-range jet flies it non-stop; a super-midsize jet usually makes a short fuel stop, often in Türkiye or Cyprus, which adds about 45 minutes.
Which airport should I use for Dubai?
DXB if you are staying in Downtown, DIFC or Jumeirah and your date is not a peak one: it is 15 minutes from the centre. DWC if you want guaranteed parking and a quiet terminal, or you are heading to Palm Jebel Ali or Expo City. Sharjah when DXB has no slot and the timing matters more than the drive.
How much does a private jet to Dubai cost?
From about €42,000 one way from Munich in a super-midsize jet to about €75,000 from London in an ultra-long-range jet. The whole aircraft is priced, not the seat, so eight passengers in a heavy jet pay the same as two. Empty legs appear regularly in both directions and can cut the figure by a third or more.
Do I need a visa for the UAE?
Citizens of the EU and EEA, the UK, Switzerland and the US receive a visa on arrival. On a private flight, immigration is cleared in the terminal lounge in a few minutes. Other nationalities need a visa arranged in advance; tell us the passports on board when you ask for the quote and we check.
How far in advance should I book?
Outside the peak weeks a day or two is enough, and same-day is often possible. From mid-December to early January and for the Grand Prix weekend, two to three weeks gives the best choice of aircraft and guarantees parking.
Can I fly on to Riyadh, Doha or the Maldives on the same aircraft?
Yes. Dubai is the natural hub for a Gulf or Indian Ocean itinerary: Riyadh is under two hours, Doha about an hour, Malé about four. The same aircraft and crew can stay with you, or we position a smaller jet for the short legs.
Can my dog or cat travel with me?
On most aircraft, in the cabin. The UAE requires a microchip, a valid rabies vaccination and an import permit, which takes a few working days. We arrange it with the operator and the handling agent.
What is the baggage allowance?
It depends on the aircraft, not on a rule. A heavy jet takes golf bags and large suitcases for everyone on board; a light jet is tighter. Tell us what you are bringing and we match the aircraft, or send luggage ahead.
