Private Jet to Ibiza
Ibiza has one runway and a short season, which is the whole art of flying there privately: a slot and a parking position secured with the flight, fifteen minutes from the aircraft to the villa, and the boat to Formentera leaving from the port below the old town. From London or Düsseldorf it is a flight of two and a half hours.
Which airport for Ibiza.
There is no choice to make on Ibiza: one airport takes every jet in the reference fleet, so the work is in the slot and the parking, not in the runway.
| Airport | To the centre | Runway | Jets that fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ibiza IBZ | 7 km, 15 min to Ibiza Town and the port; 25 min to Santa Eulària, 35 min to Sant Antoni and the north | 2,800 m | 70 of 70 VIP airliner |
Ibiza (IBZ): The island's only airport, with a general aviation terminal and a long runway that takes any jet. From June to September slots are coordinated and the apron fills with aircraft parked for the week, so both are secured when the flight is booked. Tell us whether the aircraft stays, because parking is the first thing to run out. Formentera is 30 minutes by boat from the port.
Rule of thumb: published take-off distance at maximum weight, sea level, a standard day and a dry runway. Altitude, weather and airport rules can still rule out an aircraft the runway allows. Check any airport in the runway checker

Ibiza through the year.
Easter. The island reopens: hotels and the first restaurants from late March, the airport still easy. A good week for a villa before the crowds.
Late May. The opening parties set the season going; from here on, weekend slots at the airport are allocated and parking should be booked with the flight.
July and August. Peak season on the island and the airport's busiest weeks. Expect a slot an hour or two from your preferred time on a Saturday, and reserve parking for the whole stay.
September. For many of our clients the best month: warm sea, quieter roads, the season still running. Slots loosen after the first week.
Early October. The closing parties, then the island empties within a fortnight. The last weekend is as busy as any in August.
November to March. Quiet and mild; most beach clubs and many restaurants close, the airport is empty, and prices on the short legs from Spain and Germany are at their lowest.
Ibiza, in brief.
Where to stay
Most private arrivals head for a villa rather than a hotel, and the island sorts itself by coast: the north around Sant Joan and Portinatx for quiet, the east around Santa Eulària and Es Canar for families, the south-west from Cala Jondal to Cala Conta for the beach clubs and the sunsets. In town, Ibiza Gran Hotel and the restored houses of Dalt Vila put you beside the marina and the Formentera boats; Six Senses on the northern tip and Nobu on Talamanca are the resort alternatives. Everything is within forty minutes of the airport.
What to do
The season sets the agenda. From late May to early October the clubs, the beach restaurants and the boats run every day; the rest of the year the island belongs to walkers, cyclists and the markets at Sant Joan and Las Dalias. A day on the water is the essential: a boat to Formentera’s Ses Illetes, lunch at Es Torrent or Es Xarcu, and back by sunset at Cala Comte. Dalt Vila, the walled old town, is a World Heritage site and worth an evening before dinner at the marina.
Getting around
A car meets the aircraft at the general aviation terminal, and the island is small: fifteen minutes to town, thirty-five to the north coast. In July and August the roads around Sant Antoni and the south-west beaches slow to a crawl in the evening, which is when a boat from the marina beats a car. Helicopter transfers to Formentera and to villas with a landing area take ten minutes and are arranged with the flight.
Good to know
Ibiza is on central European time, with no jet lag from Germany, Switzerland or France and one hour from London. The airport is the only one on the island, so a slot and a parking position are reserved when the flight is confirmed, and in August we say so in the quote. Formentera has no jet airport: it is a boat or a helicopter from Ibiza. Cards work everywhere, dinner starts late, and the clubs later still.
Before you fly to Ibiza.
How long is a private jet flight to Ibiza from Europe?
About 2 h 30 from London or Frankfurt, 2 h 40 from Düsseldorf, 2 h 15 from Munich, 2 h from Zurich and under an hour from Barcelona, all non-stop. A light jet covers the routes from Switzerland, France and Italy; from Germany and the UK a midsize jet gives more room for luggage and a week's stay.
Is there a choice of airport on Ibiza?
No. Ibiza has one airport, 15 minutes from the town and the port, and it takes every aircraft type. The planning is about the slot and the parking in summer, which we secure with the flight, and about Formentera, which is reached by boat from the port in 30 minutes.
How much does a private jet to Ibiza cost?
From about €5,500 one way from Barcelona or €6,500 from Madrid in a light jet, about €10,000 from Zurich or Paris, and about €15,500 from London or Düsseldorf in a midsize jet. The whole aircraft is priced; in July and August the parking charge for a week's stay is part of the figure and we show it separately.
How far in advance should I book in summer?
For a weekend in July or August, two weeks secures a slot close to the time you want and a parking position for the stay. Midweek flights and anything from May to June or in September can be arranged within a day or two; same-day works outside the peak.
Can the aircraft stay on the island for the week?
Yes, with a reserved parking position. In summer the apron fills, so we confirm the parking when we confirm the flight; the alternative is to send the aircraft to Palma or Valencia and bring it back for the return, which is often cheaper than a week's parking in August.
Can I continue to Formentera or Mallorca?
Formentera has no airport for jets: it is 30 minutes by boat or 10 by helicopter from Ibiza, and we arrange either. Mallorca is 25 minutes by jet or 45 by helicopter, which makes a two-island itinerary easy on the same aircraft.
What about late arrivals and early departures?
Both work. Late-evening slots are the tightest in summer, so tell us the time you want and we secure the nearest slot, the car at the aircraft and, if you like, the boat to Formentera the next morning.
